✨Meet Mrs. Prikhodko, a very lovely lady who was diagnosed with severe mitral valve regurgitation caused by a prolapsed and flailing posterior mitral leaflet. She experienced symptoms like fatigue, shortness of breath, and palpitations. Given the severity and symptomatic nature of her condition, surgical intervention was advised.
💉Mrs. Prikhodko underwent mitral valve repair through a right lateral minithoracotomy, a minimally invasive technique. This approach uses smaller incisions and specialized tools, allowing for a quicker recovery, shorter hospital stays, and less discomfort compared to traditional open-heart surgery.
⏰After the surgery, she was closely monitored in the Heart ICU before being transferred to a regular room. Her recovery was exceptional—she started physiotherapy the very next day, and just six days later, she was ready to return home. Early mobilization is key in reducing complications and helps both physical and emotional healing, allowing patients to return to their daily lives sooner.
📈This photo was taken at her second follow-up appointment, one month after surgery. It was a joy to see her thriving and making such remarkable progress in her recovery.
❤️ Sending Mrs. Prikhodko our warmest wishes from the entire team. Keep up the positivity and take great care of yourself!
