❤️ Living with an LVAD | The Patients Behind the Program

Behind every new treatment option are the people who need it.

In the photo, Dr. Nikolaos Kalampokas, Cardiac Surgeon, is pictured with two patients living with an LVAD who are under his ongoing specialist care.

For a patient with an LVAD, care does not end with the implantation of the device. Living with mechanical circulatory support requires continuous specialized follow-up, monitoring of the device, appropriate management of treatment and timely medical support whenever needed.

Until now, access to this highly specialized level of care could represent a significant challenge for patients living with an LVAD in Cyprus.

Dr. Kalampokas is responsible for the LVAD Program at the Cardiac Innovation Center, providing specialized management and follow-up for patients living with an LVAD, as well as their long-term care.

Two patients. Two different journeys. One shared need: access to the specialized care they require, here in Cyprus.

Follow-up is provided through GeSY, giving patients and their families continuity of care and direct access to the specialized support required for life with an LVAD. ❤️
