❤️‍🩹Heart Journey

Meet Artemios, an adorable and strong little boy who faced a significant congenital heart defect at just under 4 months old. Referred to our center with the diagnosis of a double aortic arch, with a prominent right arch and small left arch forming a complete vascular ring resulting in tracheal compression, Artemios had been suffering from frequent respiratory infections and tridor.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, a surgical correction was indicated. Therefore, the recommended treatment for this little boy was a resection of the left aortic arch and ligamentum arteriosum through a left lateral thoracotomy.

Following the surgery, Artemios was closely monitored in our Heart ICU during the initial days. Throughout his hospitalization, her made wonderful connections with all the medical personnel who cared for him. His adorable smile won over our hearts without a doubt. During this challenging time, his parents were always by his side, offering unwavering support, and our team provided assistance and care to the family. Artemios made an excellent recovery and was able to return home just four days after surgery.

This heartwarming picture, taken one-month post-surgery, captures Artemios radiating pure joy alongside his mom and his dedicated doctors. His smiles are a testament to the triumph of his brave heart.

Dear little Artemio, we are so proud of you for fighting this battle with such bravery.

Dear Parents, thank you for being so compassionate and understanding.
